"A salute to those who go unnoticed"
The horrors of war are experienced by many men and women. Of all those who have died in war and sacrificed themselves for our freedom, only few have been recognized. The drive into the cemetery and memorial creates a unique environment that separates itself from its surroundings. The walls extruding from the ground create barriers and memorials as the visitors pass by. The memorials cause visitors to remember all the soldiers, those who lives had been taken, and those that survived. The drive continues past the walls opening to a group of four buildings. The linear dark buildings are designed to act as walls, keeping the chapel hidden. The chapel is revealed in between the buildings as the passengers are dropped off. The chapel has a cantilevered roof as a salute to the burial grounds.
